Students are welcome to make use of recreational areas during opening hours (9am -- 5.30pm, Monday to Friday). Facilities for staffOffices: The Centre has five offices set aside for visiting teaching and research staff, two with three desks, two with two desks, and one with a single desk. Each office has telephone and data points which are connected to the networked printers. Staff can arrange access to the Centre's photocopier and fax, as well as access to secure car parking behind the Centre. (Please note: permits to enter the car park need to be organised in advance with Monash staff as the car park is located in the pedestrian zone area. Staff intending to use the car park must also collect automatic gate-openers in advance.) Library: Library facilities are limited. Programme co-ordinators are encouraged to maximise the use of electronic materials and digitisation of appropriate course materials. Monash course coordinators should contact the Monash Library to organise student access to resource materials in Prato. Accommodation and travel: We strongly recommend that course co-ordinators work through a travel agency to arrange group travel and accommodation. The Centre does not have residential accommodation, but staff can advise as to suitable apartment or hotel accommodation and will liaise with course organisers to ensure groups receive Monash University Prato Centre rates. The Centre is not able to organise individual student accommodation bookings. Italian language: For non-language programmes we can assist with organising individual or small group Italian language classes (on a user-pays basis). Inform yourself of Italian visa requirementsIt is the responsibility of visitors to the Centre to inform themselves of Italian visa requirements and make suitable arrangements. |
